At a height of 1219 meters above sea level this is the only hill station of western India. Located in the border of Gujarat state , many tourist from nearby places of Gujarat state particularly Ahmedabad city visit Mount Abu during holiday seasons.
Reaching Mount Abu
Entry point to Mount Abu is Abu, a small town in Rajasthan state. Good road connection is there from different part of Rajasthan to Abu. National Highway No : 14 connecting Ahmedabad to Beawar passes through Abu.
From Abu town you need to climb up 25 KM in Aravali hill to reach Mount Abu
There are frequent buses to take you to Mount Abu from Abu.
You can hire a Taxi to visit Mout Abu from Abu Road railway station.
Abu Road Railway station ( Station Code : ABR )
The main railway station is known as Abu Road and it is located in Abu town at foothill.
This station is in the main line connecting Jodhpur to Ahmedabad , Vijayawada line.
Nearest Airport is Ahmedabad ( Gujarat ) , and Jodhpur ( Rajasthan ). Udaipur is 160 KM from Mount Abu

You can hire bike for local visit to different parts of Mount Abu.
The road from Abu town to Mount Abu is a ghat road climbing throughout the journey of 30 KM. You will get several view points where tourist pose for photo. Throughout your journey on this road valley will be at your right side.
At the entry point of Mount Abu there is a municipality check post to collect entry fee. Tourist have to pay Rs 10 /- per head and Rs 10/- for four wheeler entry into Mount Abu town.
Polo Ground.
Just after entry into Mount Abu you will see a Polo ground. This ground is also used as Dashers ground by burning effigy of Demon king Ravan during Dashers.
Nakki Lake
This Lake is the centre point of Mount Abu . This lake is worshiped by some locals. It is belived that this lake is dug by nail ( or Nakh ) by god and goddess hence this is known as Nakki lake. This lake is surrounded by hills with greenery all around. Parks are developed by the side of the lake for the tourist. By the side of the lake there are Gayatri temple, Hanuman Ji temple and Raghunath Ji temple. The main garden is called Gandhi Vatika, boating starts from here.
Magnificence heritage hotel Jaipur house is located top of a hill by the side of the Lake.
Being centre of all tourist activity there are several restaurants and hotels are available in this part of the Mount Abu.
Boating facility is available in this lake, the famous Todd rock which resembles a Todd is located at a height from this Lake. It will take one hour to climb up to the rock and return to Nakki Lake. There is another rock known as Nun rock.
At one end of the Lake there is a Bharat Mata Mandir.
Honeymoon Point – Sunset Point
Move further in Northwest direction from Nakki lake you will reach Anadara point. This place at a height of 4000 ft is famous as sunset point and honeymoon point. Tourist visiting Mount Abu gather here to watch sunset. In holiday seasons this area became crowed and parking became a problem.
There is a lovers rock near the sunset point. Ganesh temple is at a height from here.
Dilwara Jain Temple
This magnificence temple attracts tourist for this ornamental pillars and beautiful design.
Camera, Mobile phones and any other type of gadgets are not allowed inside.
Visiting Hours for the tourist is 12 noon to 6 PM. Morning time only Jain followers are allowed for Puja and Darshan.
There is no entry fee.

Entry of Ladies in Monthly course is strictly prohibited Otherwise may suffer.
There is a list of rules to be followed during visit to the temple to maintain sanctity and sacredness.
Temples are open for visitors between 12.00 to 6 PM. Morning time is for Puja Darshan by the Jains only.
There is no entry fee for any visitors.
No arms, ammunitions, eatables, drinkables, shoes, sticks, leather articles, camera, transistors, bags & baggages etc are allowed. One has to deposite them in the ‘Cloak room ‘ at the entrance gate and obtain a token.
None should enter the temple with betel or any kind of eatable in the mouth..
Photograhy is strictly prohibited.
Entry is restricted in the cells where Jain Idons God and Goddess are enshrined.
Specimens of art are our invaluable culture heritage. Please don’t touch the sculptures, pillars and art pieces with hands, body or any other thing.
Silence and proper order is expected in the temple. Observe instructions from the security persons / watch man.

This is the headquarter of Brahamkumari the building is known as Pandav Bhawan. Here free education on spirituality and meditation is given. Beautifull paintings and arts are displayed in the hall. The big auditorium is used for various programs and talks organized by the university.
Tourist can listen to their speech for 15 minutes in a group.
You can see their office at foothill at Abu. There are branches all over the world teaching meditation and spirituality.
